Billings Public Library is where our community connects and grows together, discovering the love of reading, the joy of learning, and the sharing of creative expression.
The purpose of the Billings Public Library collections is to convey the history of Billings and Yellowstone County (Montana) in photographs, images of noteworthy documents and monographs. These records include information about the pioneers who first settled in the area, first buildings and industries; as well as notable books, historic documents and letters. At the time the items were chosen for inclusion in the Montana Memory Project, they were part of the physical collection in the Montana Room at the Billings Public Library in Billings, Montana.
The Billings Public Library Historic Collection is comprised of items from Billings Public Library which depict or describe people, places events, or other information important to the history of Montana beyond Billings and Yellowstone County.
